I've been idly sketching out a D&D campaign and it struck me I can't think of of any fantasy settings that occur in the southern hemisphere. There's always the frozen north and tanned southerners with strange magic.

Are there any books which reverse this and have a bleak and frozen south?

Since you mentioned D&D, I think the Dragonlance world was like this, the polar regions were at the south of the continent and the equator was presumably off the top of the map to the north.
