So ladies and gentlemen, I hinted on Facebook a while back about Tickety
Boo press doing a romantic comedy which got all you luvvlies talking. Yes I
heard you!

This deal has been done for a while but for reasons that will become
apparent in the next few weeks, I have sat on it, as has the author.

The legendary Boneman aka Jo Marryat (yes I said Jo - he currently has a
blonde wig on) has signed a 3-book deal for an undisclosed sum.

It really is a lovely read and we are looking forward to it coming out.

Jo is a fantastic writer and fully deserves this. I have never met anyone
quite as excited as he/she is and I'm sure his personality and following will
drive sales.

Cover will follow shortly as he is away to the ladies room to powder his
face.

Regards
Gary and Jo

So now how are we going to recognise Bonem Jo at BristolCon?

Many Congratulations, Jo and Gary. :)

Congrats team Tickety Boo Press! A wig on a skeleton is always quite fetching :)

Thanks guys - a long story about how the books came to be written (thanks almost entirely to my wife) which Gary knew about, and we've been thrashing things out for a long time, so I'm delighted it has come to fruition. Logline for Book One is: Annabelle desperately wants to bring Robert and Maria together, but it's almost impossible when you're three and a half inches tall with wings and nobody believes in you... Identical to a film script I wrote back in 1999, curiously, and I'm really looking forward to joining Gary's stable! Old nags can still give enjoyment...

Oh! Is this the one I've read bits of? If so, it's good!

Congrats! (Why Jo?)

Mouse, apparently in rom-com, the ladies believe only women can write them, allegedly. :)

Nick Hornby is the first name that comes to my mind when I think romcom. And he's a bloke.

I do get that men use female pseudonyms when they write romance (in the type of romance I write, it's the other way around), but I just wondered if there was any significance to 'Jo' rather than actual reasons. Or J.S. Marryat.

I say if you're going to do it...go all out. Susan Kissnteller...or L.V Heart

Don't just wear the wig, throw on some lipstick my friend
