I'm not sure if there is a thread on this already but I'm curious how this improves things for the authors? I follow a bunch of Presses, Publishers and Authors on Facebook and today seems to be the day they are all pushing to have you 'like' their page on Amazon.

Has anyone checked this out?

For the Chrons I went and added a like to Ralph Kern and Teresa for starters. Maybe we can have a list of Chronners out there and we can all 'like' if this helps in searches or ranking at all

I could be wrong but I think it's just on the US author page.

It may be just the US. I have already hit the like on yours Stephen. Again, I'm not sure the value but I saw a million posts about people asking for likes the other day.

I would love some likes on my author page also, but I want people who really do like so I'll leave it up to chance.
This is like(as in the same as)those people telling me I can buy 100 likes for my facebook novel page.
I don't want the numbers, I want genuine likes. Maybe I could get the numbers with a hate button.

Hey, thanks for the like (belatedly).

I haven't really used the author page Amazon other than filling out a profile. It doesn't look like you can do much with it, but it would be nice if they built in some more functionality. I'm trying to keep a Facebook page going... as someone whose not too social media minded it is a bit tricky, but needs must as the devil drives!

I think there is more functionality in the author page one .com than on .uk.
But for items not showing up in .uk that you see on .com you can put in a request for that information to be filled if they have that feature available but not activated for the author to change.

Hi,

The "like" button on author pages is not new - at least on .com, but what it actually oes for an author I don't know. I and a number of others on kindleboards had a "liking" session earlier this year or last to see if anything happened, an my likes went from a handful to I think sixty something. I haven't noticed any difference in anything other than the numbers.

Cheers, Greg.

Hmmm, this is news to me. Was unaware that such a thing was implemented on Amazon. Gonna have to check this out. Seems like there really isn't much data on it though. We will have to wait and see.
