Title reveal today for the new film, episode 7: The Force Awakens
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29933328

The seventh instalment of the sci-fi saga is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.

The film sees a new cast including Daisy Ridley and John Boyega joining original cast members Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.

The announcement was made on the movie's final day of production at Pinewood Studios, just outside London.

I suppose it's in keeping with the rest of the series.

This is a hopeful title for me. I have long bemoaned the change from the force being everywhere present where people could train to manipulate it, from something that's "in the blood." I'm hoping for a more "spiritual" bent to the film.

I will never be nerd on that level Cul. My stars! cheering a trailer? Give me a break!!

Though I never saw the trailer in a theatre, I was pretty much that big of a Star Wars nerd in 1998 that I imagine if I had I'd have likely been cheering, Parse!

Okay, I LOVED Star Wars, especially episode 1, or 4 whatever. But I yield to you, of course I might (almost certainly was) a lot older back then. I was 48 when that trailer was running. A little too whatever to be cheering a trailer at that age I would expect.

I loved the original movies , disliked the prequels. I think Lucas should produced them and let someone else write and direct them.

I like the thought! Maybe we can get someone to shift us to another better dimension.

Man oh man, well, I must say that it looks very exiting. I know that there have been some great trailers made from some bad movies, though. I am 1 year away from being 48 this year, Parson, maybe it's the eternal child in me, but I cheered:3 times while watching this! I'm probably just being silly, I know;)

Looks pretty good so far. I really liked the shot of the X-Wings skimming the surface of that lake/sea/whatever it is. The designs of the characters look suitably Star Wars-like and it is very exciting to see fresh new faces in there.

The only thing that did not have the effect that I'm sure Abrams and Co. counted on was that new Sith lightsaber. It's a little overdone in my opinion. I've had enough of those exotic lightsabers trying to get more attention than they really deserve. Nothing's ever beaten this one as far as I'm concerned: http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk...nobi-lightsaber-limited-edition-episode-3.jpg

Otherwise, very cool!

That theme music's enough to get me excited on its own

Looks interesting. There's a lot to like about this, but i'm not a fan of that Sith lightsaber. When will we see a second trailer?

I'm hoping that this trilogy will explain why a backwater planet like Tatooine is so important.

My wife has just been complaining that we have to wait a year to see the full film. :)

Loving that shot of the Millenium Falcon at the end - twisting around, making you feel like you're inside it. Notice the sand blown up by its passing - attention to detail.

Okay, I didn't cheer but my heart definitely beat faster. Not bad for someone just days from beginning his 65th year. It all looks great, the X wings, the Millennial Falcon, the troopers, the Sith, and the music is so perfect! Downside? Well the light saber is different but now we have moved into the future and (Yea!) advances can be made!
