Agents of SHIELD S201 - Shadows

I can only say wow and also express a slight disappointment. The disappointment comes from them cranking the action up to eleven without providing teasing tension in the play. The Agents of Shield has been off from the small screen nearly four months, so a lot has been forgotten over the summer holidays. They in the other hand said that they've been hiding for winter months and now is the time put the cat on the table.

Well, Miu, then. Why they had to put the Absorption Man (last seen in the second Hulk movie), Agent Carter and her gang, Hydra, Shield and US military in the same 45 minutes without giving the audience to get back and seeing how their favourite characters are really doing. Instead the screen time was devoted to IMHO to too many things. Or then maybe I'm just getting too old for the superhero stuff, and want them to slow down a little bit. But fear not, I haven't abandoned this series as I will be watching on how it will develop over the coming months.

PS. Did anyone besides me wanted to have an update on Nick Fury?

Excellent point. I noticed we seem to have Skye 2.0 and the dynamics imply that much has changed, especially between her and May. I didn't think the Xena crew was well-introduced and they sure did try to give the impression that that was it. And speaking of forgetting things over the hiatus, where did Simmons go? That said, it didn't start all that great the first time but got better and I think it's possible this will get better still.

Pet peeve note: Bob Schieffer appeared on Scorpion on CBS and we got George Stephanopoulos on Shield on ABC as the latest couple of examples in a flood. This needs to end NOW. It destroys all credibility in the "media product" the corporations are feeding us when its combined with what is avowedly fiction and reporters (yeah, like the revolving door between the watchers and watched like G.S. represents actually produces "reporters") are NOT supposed to be movie stars. Stay out of the shows and report facts.

That was a really packed first episode, full of promise for the series. They've certainly found something to focus on quickly enough - that strange artefact. And clearly, Hyrdra are anything but defeated.

Great to see Ward still in it - and the tension from Skye's meeting with him.

And Fitz - wow. That's an endearing subplot. Was a complete surprise that his brain damage was so extensive that he was only imagining Simmons there - she's gone.

Looking forward to the next episode. :)
