So, TicketyBoo Press and I rushed some special editions into print because Patrick Rothfuss said Worldbuilders was as much about promoting new writers as it was raising money for Heifer (probably the best charity there is on the planet), and we sent ten special edition ARC copies, complete with a few typos and a word missing.

Now Pat's always inundated with fantastic goodies from BIG publishers and BIG (sales-wise) authors, which all goes into the lottery and I didn't think we'd get a mention. I'm gobsmacked...

Scroll down a little on December 10th's entry. Unbelievable! Especially when you see the other books I'm keeping company with...

and here is the final cover.

Wow, that's fantastic Boneman!!! I'm chuffed for you :)

It's a long story but the printer cocked up the printing on 3-4 books so they re-sent the whole order for free so I have 10 signed and 2 signed of the skew-wiff "Worldbuilders" copies.

I can feel a competition coming on.

Congrats, Jo. Going to buy a new dress to celebrate? ;)

Congratulations Boneman, that's a very cool honor. And kudos to Patrick Rothfuss also for his charity work.

That's great guys. Congrats BM and Gary. Now to get my paws on a copy...

Boneman, that's wonderful. And may I add that I agree that "Heifer" otherwise known as "The Heifer Project International" is indeed one of the very best charities out there. Their brilliant plan is to provide households in rural third world areas with a pregnant animal (started with cows, therefore "Heifer" but now includes all manner of domesticated animals.) The people who receive the animal agree to give away the first offspring of the animal to another needy household, and then they get to keep the female and breed it for their own uses. This simple investment makes a world of difference for the families and quite often the local community. Often pigs and chickens can forage for themselves on the whole so there is precious little investment and a wonderful payoff in calories and cash down the road for the household.

How awesome is that! And I LOVE that cover in purple! :D

Indigo, darling. Indigo!

The author, a woman, decided to change the name of the book and the cover. She/he/it has to be obeyed as it is in the contract. :)

Cover by Gary Compton, whoever he is. (eejit probably!)
