Is anyone else watching Broadchurch?

The first season was excellent and now the second season is off to a cracking start with the past catching up with David Tennant's character!

Yes, I thought it was excellent. I really enjoyed the first series (if enjoyed is the right word for a series about a murdered child) and the first ep of this series was real edge-of-the-seat stuff. They're really ramping up the tension.

I watched the first ep of S2 after not having seen S1, but I did see the US remake Gracepoint... so it was kinda weird to see David Tennant play essentially the same character minus the accent (which had bugged me at first) and everyone else metamorphose into an alternate self!

I figured out who everyone was pretty quickly despite a couple of different names! Broadchurch's Priest/Vicar character seems much more sympathetic and has a girlfriend! Other than that it was the new characters and plot that intrigued me....

So the previous case comes back to haunt him big time which was I suppose the logical next step for the show. And we have a trial thanks to a courtroom drama set piece "not guilty" gasps, tears, shouting! Lovely to see Charlotte Rampling as the reluctant Solicitor for the defence. Great actress!
