So I thank all of you guys for helping me out this past weekend in my writing aspirations. I am now however in a bit of a conundrum thanks to the recent WIP developments. Of which I will post a re-write next weekend for you all to look at. That thread is here: http://www.sffchronicles.com/threads/551207/. In case you have questions or want to know what my story is about.

Should I stick with my working title, The Dynasty? I find that too bland. My Original Title has always been Dynasty: Roots of an Empire. Does that still work?

Just coming to mind now, are:
  1. A Heavenly Mess
  2. Heaven's Mess
  3. The Trial of Jerry Wilson
Feel free to give me suggestions.

I second Kerry's advice, once you have written more of the story and gotten further into the plot/characters etc. you probably find a title easier to come by, and not really knowing what the story is about we'd find it difficult to help very much I think. Also, titles aren't that important for the moment, not until your closer to finished I would think.

Having said that I do kind of like the Roots of an Empire one and Trial of Jerry Wilson. But again, I don't know what's going on in the story, so maybe they don't fit well as a whole.

I have to say, worrying about a working title is first class procrastination, get thee to the desk and get writing all the words between whatever this title is and 'THE END' :D:p.

If you are still stuck, then I'd advise you to call it: "Title to be decided" Add #1 if you have more manuscripts in a similar problematic state :)

You can ponder a brilliant real title for the story when you have a full manuscript or the title may just pop into your head while you are writing it. I tend to just stick with the first name that comes into my head - knowing full well that it will be changed. It's just there so that I save the correct files in the correct folders on my PC...

Aren't some famous Classical works just Opus (=Work) or Symphony or Concerto <insert number>
It would solve the reading order doubt for some people :)
