I'm watching this and I agree that the quality of the show is good. It is also based one of my favourite films, so what is not to like? My only problem is that I keep thinking that I already know the ending, so how can it keep up any suspense?

The two watches from two time periods brought together caused their mutual annihilation. This leads naturally to the idea that two Coles brought together from different time streams would result in the same mutual annihilation (Very different to the Continuum plot, and I predict this will happen soon.) Except, the body practically renews itself every few months; replacing atoms with different atoms. So, theoretically a living organic thing would be immune. I wonder if they will experiment to test this.

Another good episode, introducing the "Brad Pitt" character Jennifer Goines. And the army of the 12 monkeys appear to be much more real and powerful/mysterious in the show compared to the film. Are they actually responsible for the virus or will this turn out to be something else entirely?

Good to see more of Cole's buddy Ramse, played by Fringe's Kirk Acevedo.

Interesting point Dave, but you could argue that I am still "me" even when all my atoms are renewed, thanks to my DNA being passed on through each cell reproduction.. The argument for 2 inanimate objects being annihilated is perhaps weaker than for organic matter?

Episode 2 "Mentally Divergent"
Nice to see Kirk Acevedo show up. His banter with Cole was actually kind of good. Funny Cole got sent back to North Korea of all places. What the hell was that crazy claymation the inmates were watching in the mental institution? The gender switch of the Jeffrey Goines character is interesting and I think Emily Hampshire plays the part of Jennifer well, even capturing some of Brad Pitt's mannerisms. Happy to see Tom Noonan cast as the villain of the series. He plays creepy bad guys so incredibly well.
