Maybe it's just me. And maybe this forum isn't the correct place for this thread, but I couldn't find or think of a closer one, so here it goes, and may the moderators have mercy on my posting.:D

In considering Valentine's Day for Ms. Grim and the Grimlets, I of course began thinking about what to do on the day itself. Then, keeping true to form, my mind wandered and I found myself wondering why there isn't more SFF about Valentine's Day. Not that anyone else in my family would care, you understand (well, technically, Grimlet the Younger goes for the whole YA Divergent/Twilight/Mortal Bones kind of thing, so maybe there's some hope), and any revelations you kindly folk of The Chrons might provide will not likely matter for my original dilemma. You might, however, slake my curiosity about the holiday and SFF.

So, have at it. What do you consider to be the best Valentines Day SFF Story? I'd found this one a couple weeks ago upon my initial distraction, and offer it up as food for thought. It's a little in the vein with Bambi vs. Godzilla, but....oh, read for yourself...then counter it!

I suspect this could just go in the General Book Discussion as you're not looking for a specific title. As far as Valentine's Day, I don't know why there's not more - maybe a holdover from when girls had cooties? It just doesn't seem like a science-fictional holiday... actually, holidays don't seem particularly sfnal in general. I couldn't tell you what the best one is but at least someone else has thought about the subject and produced a Valentine's Day theme anthology.

Well, since there apparently aren't lots of thoughts on Valentine's Day in SFF, let me "close" my contributions (for now, anyway; I'll be back if I find more that are noteworthy!) to the thread by offering all of you wonderful folks a happy Valentine's Day, wherever you are. :)
