Years ago in Analog I read a story called Dragonstar about a huge cylinder in orbit around our sun and the reptile-like beings humans found living in it when they went to investigate. Recently I've been trying to find a place to buy the book. What I've been led to believe is that it's a trilogy and if it is I've only been able to find the third book in the series. Does anyone know if the author of what I'm remembering is David F. Bischoff? Does anyone know where I can get copies of all the books in the series if so, or what I really am remembering if not?

Thank you for any help!
David

According to the introspective science fiction database, "Dragonstar" was never independantly published, but was serialized in the science fiction magazine.

There are a lot of used copies out there of the series. Alibris has the books not offered by amazon.

However there are used copies floating around out there. Here is a listing of all the published works from one such source.

Just bought all 3 from amazon sellers in the usa to re-read them so are available
Does the first book you got start at the beginning, with humans noticing something flashing and going out to see what it is? Or does it start later in the story than that? I'd like to read it again right from the start while they're still wondering what it could be. Is that part in Day of the Dragonstar?

You can get the old serialization from the analog back issues online.

Night is the first one when they notice day is when they defend

Actually never got round to the 3rd one thank-you for the reminder of this series 1 off my bucket list
