Hi all,
I have a vague memory of a sci fi film I saw as a child and I'd love to track it down.
I have only odd little snippets of memory, so here we go:
It's probably 70's era (had the same feel and look to something like Silent Running), and seemed a bit low budget. Possibly British, as the characters has British accents.
The plot revolves around a bunch of people who board an escape pod and try and escape a sentient ship that chases after them.
The escape pod has a talking computer in the form of a box that slides along the ceiling on a rail - I think the computer was named F.E.L.I.X.
The plot twist is that the spaceship isn't controlled by an AI, but by the brain of a human boy who had "longed to see the stars".
The film ends with the sentient ship and it's captain deciding to travel into deep space and explore the galaxy together.
Any ideas? I can't find anything on Google, so I presume this is an obscure one.
