Brian and Ray, I've created threads for three of Bradbury's books, specifically for the discussion of the individual stories. Curiously, in looking over the many threads, Brian, that you found, I didn't see threads that seemed devoted to a discussion group approach to these books.

Great idea, Extollager. It's prompting me to pull out at least one of those books and reread it soon.

I read "Something Wicked This Way Comes" way back in high school.

What a great book that was!

Its time to read it again. :)

By him ive read
Dandelion Wine
The Martian Chronicles
October Country
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Fahrenheit 451

Ray Bradbury is one of Science fFction's greatest writer of all time.

One of my favorite novels is The Martian Chronicles. The story has a spiritual atmosphere that blends with the science fiction in a way only Bradbury could do. The movie was not that great but it seemed to me to capture some of that. Also, two of Bradbury's stories - Fahrenheit 451 and The Illustrated Man got to the big screen in the 60s. Pretty early compared to most other major SF writers.

Heinlein, Asimov, and Clarke are considered the Big Three of SF writers but I read a few times that Bradbury is sometimes added to make it the Big Four.

I did not know there was a film. There was a 1970s TV series starring Rock Hudson.

The “Big Three” idea is something I do not hear much any more. Does it stand up now?

There's a nice collection of his stories from Everyman.

Ray Bradbury Theater ran on the USA network from 1985 to 1992 for. total of 65 episodes . Some episodes were adaptation of chapters in The Martian Chronicles.
