Yet another remake, sorry reboot

I agree about Hollywood being hooked on remakes rather than breaking new ground but actually, I really liked the TV series. I have it on DVD. That still worked with different actors - Gary Graham and Eric Pierpoint. It is a great analogy for racism and for fear of immigration, and the TV series was able to take the ideas further and explore other areas that a film is too short to do. Also it was much funnier too. I'd prefer the TV series to come back again. I rate it as one of the best Science Fiction TV shows made.

Not a fan of remakes or reboots but Dave's comments made me think that - given the current concerns regarding immigration - it might be quite apt to bring something of this nature back.

Are we sure this is going to be a film rather than a TV series?
One tidbit is known: The first installment will begin by telling how and why the aliens came to Earth.
"First Installment" - looking forward to a series of films would be a bit presumptuous for anyone working for Fox. Even a TV series would be lucky to get six shows.

I'm not too fussed about remakes/reboots. Let them do what they want, but it doesn't mean someone who enjoyed the original should be obligated to watch the remake.

If the reboot version is set for a younger generation, then so be it. I've gone past caring, and it's not as if remakes a new concept: it's been going on for decades.....

I can't im enthusiastic about this one. Why don't they do a sequel instead?
After the TV series there were several made-for-TV films too. There is quite a lot of story already including an explanation of where the Newcomers came from. I would also prefer they didn't go over the same ground and rehash the same material.
