I can't help myself, I have to say it somewhere...Just finished editing Ralph Kern's Endeavor from the Sleeping Gods. Was one of the best editing experiences of my career. Loved the story, loved working with the author. I can honestly say, of all the manuscripts I've ever worked on, this was my favorite. And I think we made a significant difference in the last quarter of the book. The book is an homage to the style of some of the midcentury greats but updated in a professional and modern way. Can't wait for the rerelease. This is the kind of SF I want to read,
 
Blush. And from my side, and to quote myself from another post, you turned the editing process from the crushing chore I normally find it into a pleasure.

Goes to show, synergy between editor and author is even more important than just getting anyone to do it!

And agreed, I can't wait till OUR work gets put up!!!

This is just so important. Anyone who is in the position of going with a publisher at any stage - make sure you get on with your editor and trust their judgement. We say it about agents, but it's even more important with your editor, I think. :)
 
If your implying a ménage a tois with Gary there would have to be some very firm ground rules, Jennifer!
 
Ralph you are an old fruit. LOL I am as old as a turd from Tutenkhamu's camel. So I don't do sex. LOL
 
I notice we left Jennifer's age out of it. Smart man! And I'm an editor, Ralph, I'm all about the rules...and words...lovely nice safe words...oh dear, did I type that out loud?
