On the 9th May I will be at the Stafford Shire Hall library from 11.00am until noon. (longer if more folks turn up ;) )

The library have been superb. I spent most of my lunch time speaking to the communications department of Staffordshire Council. They are doing a full press release for the event as well as photos. So really chuffed!

Just spent the last hour having my photo taken for the press release. So excited I am breathless!(Unless that is from rushing back to work to eat my lunch?)

A wanted poster? What's the reward for your capture? :p

It certainly is catching my eye, Teresa. It is in on a number of council notice boards round the town and in the entrance of the office I work in. I feel like the villian on Criminal Minds ;)

Yes they are they are really pulling out the stops for me.

Oh there will be cupcakes with the front cover in nice little icing circles on top.... yum....

Up date.

Hopefully to day the press release for the event put together by the Staffs County Council will be sent out. (It has to be approved by the big wigs first). But I have seen it and wow! It made me blush. it will be on their twitter feed, facebook and sent to local newspapers, radio and TV!! Anyway, as soon as I can I will re-post it here.

Getting a lot of buzz back from friends old and new about the book now. As well as folk at work, who have seen the poster and remarked on it and the event. So fingers crossed there will be a a good crowd on the 9th May.

We will have cupcakes. the order has gone in.

So daughter and I will be loaded down with books and cupcakes on the 9th May! Hopefully coming home with no books and cupcakes, well a few cupcakes ;)

Well done the authorities in Stafford and Staffordshire. They seem to be doing you proud. :)

It's a very nice picture.

But that headline ... it makes it sound like you're writing erotica. Be prepared for many strange looks from your co-workers!

Years ago, after I had a few published books, a local paper sent out a reporter to interview me. I don't remember anything about the article itself except that the accompanying picture was one of the few photographs of myself that I can bear to look at it ... and the title of the article: "Mom lives dream of writing novels." How incredibly condescending. I'm sure that if I were a man and a father they would have used an entirely different slant.

It would be worse, of course, now that I'm a grandmother. I am sure they would come up with something unbearably sweet. How lucky for you that you are a council worker! (Even though it rather sounds like you're the next E. L. James.)
