How do you pronounce Kare?

I know this is a silly question, but it troubles me when I read aloud in my head. Is it "Kar-Rei"? or "Care"?

I know this is a silly question, but it troubles me when I read aloud in my head. Is it "Kar-Rei"? or "Care"?

It's not silly because lots of people have asked (there might even be a long buried thread where I have a video of me saying it in my odd Northern Irish accent somewhere.)

For me, it's Care, in my head (which comes out as Kurrrr when I say it) but I'm not hung up on it and suspect others have read it with the accent.
