Anyone else remember the Grailquest "choose your own adventure" books from the 1980's?
I'd completely forgotten about these, until playing some 80's pop music last night that I triggered memories of playing these to the same music.
This was probably my first introduction to both fantasy as genre fiction, and role-playing games - though the books were somewhat limited on both accounts.
Though I remember completing the first one, I seem to recall getting stuck on the second - no matter which option I seemed to choose, I'd end up at a dead-end. I seem to recall trying it a second time and getting the same result.
Anyone else remember these? With fondness, frustration, or even best left forgotten?
