The Union of Arcana using magic as its energy source and the Sharona employing psionic technology as theirs have sent numerous expeditions exploring other universes without encountering any other sentient beings including each other. Each world understood the importance of control when that anticipated first encounter with an intelligent life form occurs as scientists on both orbs expect it to eventually happen one day. The Arcanian led by Hundred Jasak Olderhan enter a portal into the Sharona universe where one of his soldiers fires the shot heard around the multiverse (see HELL’S GATE).

Though Hundred Jasak Olderhan tries to prevent war, hostilities have broken out between the two societies over the incident and control of Hell’s Gate. The Arcanian wizards ride their dragons with spells as their weapons into battle; the Sharona counter with their steam driven trains and boats and weapons like machine guns. As mass deaths occur on both sides the likes of neither have seen before, the Arcanian and the Sharona demand vengeance for their fallen warriors. That includes many innocent civilians amidst the dead. Both sides are used to being on the top of the food chain and with grievances to inflame the rabble by power seekers, the multiverse is at war on multiple earths with more deaths added to the hostilities.

Book 2 in the Multiverse can stand alone, but is much more enhanced by reading HELL GATE as that tale provides deeper insight into understanding the differing societies. Though more entrenched as a military science fiction story line than the first encounter plot of the previous thriller, HELL HATH NO FURY is filled with action on several earths as two societies collide due to both distrusting the other worsened by an inability to communicate.
