Ken Follet to write new sequel to Pillars of the Earth

Apparently, the third book in what is now a series is planned for 2017:

Is the first book really that good?

Yes the first book is excellent and the second for that matter. Follet just really hit the nail on the head with the series - as any agent or publisher will tell you - 'Historical Fiction is so in right now'. Follet just happens to be one of the best at scribing it.

I'll be interested to read what you think of the series - I just love Follett's character development and detailed, yet colourful (never boring), scene setting and world building. Excellent stuff.
