1939 to -015, died after battling brain cancer. R.I.P.
 
A good director pigeon holed into genre but better than that. Pity he never got to do the work he wanted to do.
 
Both he & John Carpenter, totally shook up the horror genre in the late 70s & 80s. Awesome contributions from both (although personally I preferred JC).
