Daryl, Abraham and Sasha encounter many obstacles and a new threat while trying to return to Alexandria.

That radioed “help” at the very end of the episode sure sounded a lot like Glenn. Will they never stop taunting us?

Yes, it was Glenn. And that's all I'm going to say on the subject at the moment because it pisses me off that he magically survives getting his face eaten off. In the other hand, the first zombie Daryl ran into was so called "safe-zombie." We have seen tree zombies, sever zombies, buried zombies, regular old walking ones and a hanging zombie that luckily didn't off Abraham. But in regards of safe-zombies, I think they should be all wearing crash helmets or some other type of head piece that renders them inept to bite.

I just don't think anyone's willing to go out there to do that. Governor might have as he saw fitting to pull teeth out from their jaws, and have them being subjects on old blood sports at the back of Woodbury. The other guy, whose face we didn't see, is even crazier. Some people could say him being absolutely bonkers, but we saw that his method of madness yielded some positive measures. I think we can safely assume that Wolves got what they wanted from that little town.

In the other hand, they didn't get stuff from Alexandria. Not that things are looking dire, as it seems that there are plenty of stuff to loot. All you need is to send out your scouts, and make ground safe for them to not encounter other humans and things will go well. That same thing applies to Alexandria but I don't think they'll have that peace for a while. Not at least when bullets are flying.

I would say they were stupid for trying to hit Daryl and Sasha plus Abraham from a speeding vehicle. That stuff only works in Hollywood movies. And with regular standing armies that have stabilized equipment, which brings me to the subject of the RPG. As a Chekov's Gun I bet we'll see it being used in anger very soon. Although for being an instrument for avoiding a suicide worked pretty well. Abraham was pleased. Not only from that but from finding a box of Cuban cigars as well.

The world of Walking Dead didn't go through renewing relationship between Americans and Castro's Cuba. So those fat cigars are a novelty item. Similar to finding an unopened bottle of proper scotch (or a RPG launcher that came out just three months ago.) But that's what they need. Novelty items and fun that we heard in the gates of Alexandria, when Rick stepped out from his car in the last season.

Harsh! Mother-to-be Maggie would disapprove of that attitude.;)

Another unconventional trait of these Kirkman zombies -- they don't seem capable of cracking a fresh braincase and gobbling grey matter. They do seem to be quite proficient at ripping into living bodies using only their inefficient human teeth and fingernails.
Glenn was probably just munching on Nick's left ventricle, courtesy of one of his new dumpster buddies, when he made the call.

Two distinctly average episodes on the trot, IMO. The Daryl stuff was passable but I don't really give two hoots about Abraham or Sasha. The Glenn thing really wasn't a surprise.

After a few brilliant opening episodes it has all become a bit fragmented. If I wasn't so invested on the series I would be tuning out about now.

Yes, it was Glenn.
How do you know for sure? Could be that guy who stole Daryl's motorcycle. But it could very well be Glenn AND maybe he did escape, but got bit.

What does everyone think? If it was in fact Glenn on the radio, did he survive unscathed? Or is he injured? Bitten?

For me, they waited so long that at this point, I would be disappointed if it were Glenn. He should be dead. It was a massive army of Walkers. They'll have to give a believable scenario of how he survived that makes since in order for me to approve. I want Glenn to live, but I also want a believable story.

It's not like they really waited a long time though. Not a lot of time has passed. I think it was Glenn and I'm assuming he will be okay. But I could be wrong. I do hope we get a resolution on it before the mid-season break one way or another

I thought it was a pretty good episode. A new bunch of characters, some killed off, some left. But we will see some more of that gang. If that vehicle Darryl was driving was loaded with fuel then it is a decent trade for his crossbow. Hopefully he will find another.
The Glenn call was concerning. Maybe Abraham will shoot him with a rocket. I hope Glenn's resolution is before the last couple of episodes of the series. I wouldn't want that to be what this is building up to. Episode 8 would be ok to confirm his survival or death as then we don't need to be stressed about it over the winter break.
So Rick will be the focus of the next episode?

I am not too sure if that was Glenn's voice on the radio. It didn't sound like him.

I was also just reading that Jeffery Dean Morgan is appearing as a major villain character comparable to the Governor. As I am not a comic reader I have avoided any spoilers, so I am really excited about this. He is a good actor.

I was thinking that exact thing, maybe we will see Glenn again but he's been bit. Would be harsh but at least there would be closure. I still wonder if there's a bit of Rick's timeline missing, that maybe we will still get to see some interaction with Glenn from that angle. Or maybe Glenn pulled a Hoth and hid inside the remains of Nicholas? ;)

Will the next episode go back to Glenn, or will we get yet another sidetrack story?

Kirkman and Co. are beginning to walk a very fine fan loyalty line this season. This fan wants an answer, and I'm tired of being manipulated.

Don't make me switch to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for my Sunday night horror fix.

It is still arguably the best season of the show ever (ok season 1 was relatively original for a series) so I think it is still doing a good job with fan loyalty.

I have to agree, the weakest episode of the Season, but a very good Season. I don't like them spinning out 'is Glenn alive or dead' either, not because I'm some massive Glenn fan, but it doesn't make good TV, and there is no feasible way for him to have survived. This episode did tell us quite a bit more about the Wolves in an indirect way. They have been seen only as violent brigands, but there could be others who are working under forced labour.

Im almost sure that the voice is not Glenn.

I ran the sound through some good headphones with some filtering and it is not Glenn. I'm fairly certain its the douche who stole Darryl's xbow (I say douche because he seems like a genuinely good guy just misguided).

Weakest episode yet but weakest episode in a strong season was still a decent episode for me.

Best line this episode:
Sasha: "How do you know?"
Abraham: "A man knows"

Okay, so I only just caught up with this episode. Good timing, new episode tomorrow. I have to agree with what seems to be the consensus that this was one of the weaker episodes of the series, but I still found it enjoyable, if hard to follow in parts.

A couple of things jarred, though. First, I'd like to know how far Darryl, Sasha and Abe led the zombies before driving off. If it isn't that far - five to ten miles, say - then the mysterious antagonists of this episode make a third organised group, alongside the Alexandrians and the Wolves, inside what seems to be a pretty small radius, who up until this point haven't run into each other, even though they all seem to scouts/foragers/psychopathic murderers. Again, this goes back to the hazy geography we're getting in this season.

The other thing - did the trio Darryl ran into say that they started the fire just after the apocalypse? As in, more than a year ago? As in, far too long ago for the whole place to be charred and dead? We've had burnoffs in local bushland a month or two back, and you'd be hard-pressed to see where now, unless you were looking for it. Maybe I misheard, but that was the impression that I got.

Could it be that the Wolves have just recently moved to the area? From all the signs about them in previous seasons it seems maybe they have been moving around? Also Washington DC is a big city so there could be a few groups around. But it does seem a coincidence if they haven't met.
I think you are right about the burning. Depending on the type of vegetation you could expect trees to still be blackened and not much to have grown back but it looked more recent than it was supposed to be. Maybe it is dramatic license, it probably worked in the comic. :)
