I'm looking for two books - actually two short stories each in a short story collection.
Story 1 is about a reporter who finds out about a secret laboratory run by the US government. Research found the way to immortality and there are actually immortal persons living in this lab. The reporter wants to go public with his finds, the scientist argues with him if publicity would be the best way to go (Who should get the 'drug' to gain immortality? How should decide?).
Story 2 is about an astronaut who crashes on a wonderful planet. He is lives there among the locals and is worshiped like a god. He gets accustomed to this live but after a year he is to be sacrificed on a pyramid.
I read both stories in the ending 1980s or beginning 1990s in books from our local public library.
I remembered them a few month ago but there is nothing more like the fragments I gave above.
Are there any ideas here in the community?
Or at least a hint where to search?
