Ma & Pa Kettle

I 1st became interested in the 1st film because it involved a futuristic house of tomorrow, & being a Looney Toons fan, I wanted to compare it to the Daffy Duck - Elmer Fudd cartoon of that same type: Design for Leaving. So, the Kettle family wins the new home, & having lived in a shack, finds it a bit much, to go from the shack, skipping a normal house, & moving into this futuristic one.

So, I watched the block of M&PK films that TCM showed a few years ago, & enjoyed them all. Just yesterday, TCM ran most of them again, & one that the guy said was a TCM premiere.

Hyuhp. Well, well... I'll be consarned. Sure do remember Maw n' Paw, yep.. on the Tellyvision, all funny as all get-out, by gum.

Well, then, don't forget to read "The Egg and I." Betty Mcdonald. True story, and source of the characterization of Ma and Pa Kettle.

It's been 40 or 50 years since I read the thing; but I remember it as being highly amusing.
