Favourite Dirty Harry film

What's your favourite Dirty Harry film? Inspired by watching one and a bit films of a Dirty Harry double bill on the other night. Didn't finish watching The Enforcer because it was on too late and I had to get up early next morning for work.

Magnum Force (1973)
The Enforcer (1976)
Sudden Impact (1983)
The Dead Pool (1986)

My favourite was Magnum Force.

Glad his partner in The Dead Pool stayed alive. First one since original film to live.

Disappointed that di Georgio was killed off in the third of the Original seventies trilogy. Only read two of the books based on Dirty Harry, glad di Georgio was still alive in them, but they took Harry away from San Francisco in both of them. (San Antonio in one, a caribbean island in the other).

wow - that's a hard one! I gotsta say I'm going to cheat and say the 1st 3 are better than 4 & 5 (though they're still good) with an honourable mention to The Gauntlet which was pretty much Dirty Harry lite

Kind of a toss-up... let's see...
The Bad Guy in Dirty Harry was loosely based on a real case. I remember having my school bus shadowed by a police escort when the "Zodiac Killer" was leaving young women's corpses strewn around the forests of my home town. There were actually three different psychos loose, locally, over the course of the late sixties and early seventies. I guess I might have felt a little safer; thinking that there might be a Dirty Harry out and about.

But Sudden Impact has a lot of familiar scenery from the home front. Particularly the Seaside amusement park, there in Santa Cruz, CA.

Hard to pick a favorite, the whole series is great. I had to give The Enforcer a bump, though.

Great one-liners; great action sequences, and superb support performance from Andy Robinson as Scorpio.

"Did I fire 6 shots or only 5....."
