John Gwynne has just finished Wrath, the fourth book in his Faithful and the Fallen series:
Wrath | John GwynneJohn Gwynne

He's won the Gemmell award, received a 5-figure advance for books 3 & 4 in his current series, and has received a 6-figure advance for a trilogy to follow.

However, aside from a one post thread on Malice, he's not getting much discussion here, which is surprising.

Anyone here read any of his current series, or planning to?

Yes, I've read all three of the series and thought they were excellent, some of the best Fantasy novels of the last few years. I hadn't noticed John Gwynne was conspicuously absent from the threads but, yes, it does seem kind of strange considering the quality of his writing.

If you're looking for a good Fantasy series then I would highly recommend the Faithful and the Fallen.

Late next year for the next book? Groan...

Yes - finally! - though I didn't actually read it till a month or so ago. AFAIK the Faithful and the Fallen series is now complete at 4 books, and he's moving on to something else. He's one of my favourite contemporary authors - the whole series is consistent, and there isn't a weak book in there at all.

Enjoyed the Faithful and the Fallen, Gwynne is now firmly on my list of must buy authors. I have an advance copy of the new book, currently reading and will post a review when finished.
