back from hiatus

It's been an incredible long time since I've had a chance to sit down and write anything that is worth taking note of. Everything I've done thus far has been reading and essentially re-writing what I had already written down. It seems since coming back after such a long hiatus that I have changed so much in not only my writing style but also the ability to add details. I was just wondering if this is something other writers often do as well?

Always happens. I think it's more or less inevitable - time changes your outlook on life, as well as your experiences. It might be worth starting on something fresh if you feel you've changed markedly - I find going back to old stuff after too long away can sometimes feel a bit stifling, like you've not got the chance to spread your wings properly.

Thanks Brian it feels good to be back. I will definitely keep that in mind Allmywires, there are a few ideas floating around in my head.

Welcome back! I haven't taken a long break since I started writing, but still when I look at earlier stuff there's been a natural shift in style. I think change is inevitable, and usually good. :)
