I read this rather wonderful book during the holidays and wanted to recommend it to other people here at Chronos.
It reminded me of one of my favorite books, the Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber, so it was interesting to find the following introduction to the book at goodreads:
"For fans of Sarah Waters and The Crimson Petal and the White, a vibrant tale of female boxers and their scheming patrons in 18th-century Bristol."
Has anyone else read it, and if so what did you think of it?
