Interesting. I have only read one of the fantasy books, but do have a couple on my TBR pile. I've read two of the SF ones, with a couple of those on my pile too. I was surprised that I've read the top two mystery/thrillers though. Both good reads.

Of the SF novels, I count two that might make the shortlists for the Hugo or Nebula Awards, and only one of those might appear on the BSFA or Clarke Award shortlists.

I'd also want to know this. I think Good Reads is a magnificent site. I like how you can compare your shelves with other people's shelves and generally have a look what your friends are reading. I have tried to look for a group to join but often the groups are too genre-spesific or in some sort of inside circle use. Most of the time groups just die from whatever reason. Even though we have boards like SFFC I still think GoodReads has its uses. You can get to know a person surprisingly well (bookwise of course) when you get to see her bookshelves and reviews.

I myself have reached a state in which I am seriously addicted on databasing my upcoming reads, as well as owned books and read books. It helps me with retrospect also when generally thinking about what I have read. And the stats GR provides are really fun and motivating.

There is actually a defunct Sffchronicles group on goodreads (I stumbled across it on a search a while ago). I see no reason it can't be resurrected.

I do use it, both as an author and as a reader. I made a list over the weekend for a women's writing initiative I'm involved in, for instance. I like that it's focused on reading and we mouthy writers are kind of kept in our box. :)

Oh, yes - and I interact with a fair few Chronners on it.

Im one of the moderators for that SFF chrons GR group i get emails sometimes of people wanting to join the group.

I got too busy offline to use GR almost daily like i use to but im back to it now that im trying to read as much as i can again.

SFF chrons users in GR are my kind of people i have alot of them as GR friends i have been around this forum since 2007 there are few people whose taste in books i trust more than fellow SFF chronners :)

Interesting list. I must be slipping, I haven't read any of their SF selection. And besides, they forgot the best of the lot - Mine! :p ROFL. Oh wait, people have to READ a book before it gets added to such a list, don't they?

One of these days, I may spend some time on Good Reads again, but when I did years ago, it seemed a hostile and strange place... Hopefully it has improved.
