It really depends on what you want from your reading, though. Everyone has different personal tastes, and no single author will satisfy more than a fraction.
If you don't like it, it's rather a massive quantity to plough through. It's the first of a trilogy, and their all that size. Not that there aren't lots of good ideas in the series,there are, just that reading 'War and Peace' if it's boring you to tears, and it's not a book you'll be examined on, sounds like an exercise in masochism.
