Name that 80's B Movie

Out of nowhere, I found myself thinking of a movie I used to watch late at night in the 80's. I can only remember once scene. There was a gold child-like android, and in this scene, he asks one of the crew members to put him in combat (or battle) mode. She does it, and he goes to fight what I think is another android that looks just like him, but is instead silver. Any ideas?

The TV show Buck Rogers in the 25th Century had a Twiki, a child size gold robot. The rest...I wouldn't know because the 80s for me were 60 hr. plus a week work weeks with no dvr or vhs or dvd to record those on.
