Looks like the closest the concert came or will come to Inverness was the Nov. 1 kickoff last year in London's Royal Albert Hall. That didn't set off a proximity alarm?
I didn't mean to taunt UK Chrons members. Believe it or not, many of us live within driving distance of concert stops. I thought they might want to know.
Considering the international scope of the ST fanbase, I would not be at all surprised if the tour continued beyond North America.
This was an amazing experience, a visual celebration of 50 years of Star Trek.
A masterful mix of series and films clips was accompanied flawlessly by a live symphony orchestra. It seemed both a compliment and an insult that I often forgot the musicians were there.
Sorry about the camera phone quality. No DSLRs allowed.
I expected the concert to be emotional for an old Trek fan, and it frequently was. The fullhouse audience spanned a wide age range. A few came in Starfleet uniform, but I didn't spot any Spock ears. All red shirts who beamed in survived the experience.
In the midst of a standing ovation at the conclusion, the entire orchestra rose and gave the audience the "Live Long and Prosper" salute -- a funny and touching tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy.
I was glad I could talk my wife into attending this probably once in my lifetime event. I would recommend it to others who are in range of the remaining concert stops.
