Have these had a mention?

I especially dig both of their styles. These guys are must reads for horror fans.

The Manitou
The Wells of Hell

both good reads.:)

Amazon.com: Richard Laymon: Books, Biography, Blog, Audiobooks, Kindle

This is the amazon page with a list of his works, his beast house trilogy is amazing, and his style is very similar to Masterton's.

It's like King on fast forward. King without the boring narrative. King, but better.

I think Laymon might need to come with a warning: My impression from how his fans have described his work indicates that Laymon deals a lot with sexual intimidation and rape. I've only read The Cellar, which mostly supports that, and which also indicates that he wasn't hung up on things like mood, atmosphere or characterization.

I think it's interesting, though I don't know what it means, that Laymon had greater success with the audience in England than that in the U.S. My impression is that he stayed in print there well after falling out of print here.
