Any 'Liam's? - most people shorten William to Will, Willy, Bill etc. But the Irish, being the Irish, have shortened it from the other end to 'Liam'.

I'd never heard that, but it's too cool to not be true.

Also the girl's name Caoilfhionn (pronounced Key-Lin), one of those words where ya think the original scribe must've been getting paid by the letter

I remember a few years ago I was on the editing board of a literary journal and one of the guys giving feedback on the same story as me made the comment that he didn't know why the author used names made up of "a bunch of random letters". I had to message him to let him know that the names were just Irish... I don't know if he saw my message before the feedback was sent or not.
