Daryl and Rick (Photo by Gene Page/AMC)

A seemingly simple scavenging run proves to be very tricky when our group isn't the only one vying for an unexpected supply goldmine

The headliner here is obviously Rick and Michonne, ah, shall we say, upgrading their housemate status? That pot was on the burner for a long, long time before it finally boiled over.

The new guy, “Jesus,” is a big question mark. Resourceful, skilled at hand-to-hand combat – he could be a big plus on the Alexandria side or real problem as an enemy. Is he is a loner or part of a more threatening group?

Other than walker Deanna's demise and resultant closure for Spencer, this was much lighter than average TWD episode. Rick and Daryl dealing with Jesus was as close as the series has come to being humorous.

I suspect that this was the calm before the next conflict storm.

Absolutely wonderful episode. I would like it if I could. So, all I can do is to tell I loved it. Literally. This episode is up there with 18 Miles Out and other great ones. And what's to not like it, it had Jesus, laughs, and demise of Denise's mum plus Enid and Carl were having fun in the trees. But like REBerg said, thing at the end was proof of Rick's and Michonne's romance that had been on cards ever since they fled from the Prison.

This is now third major base, after Hershel's Farm and the Prison that Rick's posse has settled in. And from Eugene talks it looks as if it's going to be the last. Alexandria is truly a Safe-Zone. There's probably, a few of them in whole world. But this is their own. There's nobody to stop them doing whatever they want with it. At least as long as this Neegan character stays away.

He shouldn't be even aware that ASF exist, since his patrol was destroyed. The question, however is: Does Jesus belong in his gang or is he part of some other place? Lord forbids. Thing is, the way it was written, shows that Jesus isn't inherently a bad man, he's just a bad ass. If he can kick Rick's and Daryl's ass, unarmed, he has to be someone Rick wants to get on his side. After all he has prayed Lord to help him, and from knowing Him I can tell He's very sarcastic in a way he throws back curve balls.

Of course you can tell me off, but thing is this was ... er ... is a true turning point. This is not just the calm before the next storm, but this episode truly marks TWD's greatness over any other zombie shows. Including Max Brooks' World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide.

Those are books and TWD is a television show.

Thing is, if Zombie Apocalypse is a thing and not just fiction, one could have watched TWD and learned something about the survival, in public most favourite was to end of the world - as we know it. So, in that regards, one would have a great chances of finding life and peace, because that bit of tranquillity is in short supply in the places like this.

One thing I have to say, is that even though Rick's and Michonne's romance has been so obvious, it kind of came from nowhere. Similarly to one that Andrea had in the original world. Michonne was supposed to have one with another person. One we haven't seen, yet. ;)

According to Talking Dead after the show, neither Danai Gurira nor Andrew Lincoln knew the scene was coming until they read the script. They both seemed as delighted as the fans.

I wasn't a huge fan, but mostly because the actions of Rick and Darryl felt unrealistic. I would think with a mother load like that, they would have taken the truck and car straight back to Alexandria. It's like that gambler that is way up but instead of cashing out, they go home without a jacket.

I've been waiting for that Michonne/Rick thing for a while, and why not? She is kind of a mother to Carl and Judith already! Also, don't make her mad Rick...she sleeps with a sword

edit: also hope Jesus is a good guy..they need one

I would have, but I guess I'm not a big risk taker. Maybe big risk takers are the only ones who survive in that world?

If he has been in this area for any length of time he must have come into contact with Neegan. So, he is either the enemy or has intel. But you know what is coming, Daryl obviously doesn't rate the threat of Neegan very highly. Probably because he took out the foot-soldiers with ease.

Jesus has escaped from being tied up twice now. The first time, to be able to climb on the roof, he did it even before the truck drove away. This guy is an exceptional escape artist, but is that a skill that has any great use? The kick boxing martial arts skills might be more useful.
Absolutely wonderful episode.
I agree. I can't see how it was slow at all. Even in the slower parts, important character building took place. If anything, it tried too hard to be funny. The truck slowly sinking into the lake complete with bubbles was a little too slapstick.

Yes yes yes I loved this episode! Finally Rick + Michonne.
Just hope she doesn't suffer the same 'curse' that all of rick's previous ladies have succumbed to and ends up as walker dinner at the end of the season...

Ahh I totally missed this... Jesus is *not* neegan? I thought he was and the whole thing was a ploy just to get into Alexandria.

Hope he's a good guy then

Other favourite bit:

Jesus: "you even got any ammo?"
Rick and Daryl: *shoot walker*

I think their whole scavenger mission showed just how close those two are: take risks (stopping for vending machine), know what each other is thinking (asking Jesus the questions and what it means to ask the questions), sharing drink from a can and chocolate in the van. Even Rick playfully knocking the unconscious Jesus into Daryl on the way back to Alexandria shows just how their bromance is blossoming too

No food, but Rick still had a very good day... Law of averages I suppose

I liked this episode. Jesus I hope he turns out to be a good guy.

Brilliant line.

I loved this episode. A lot was going on character wise and world building. It was also good to have a break from all the grimness of the previous episodes.

Like I said, God is sarcastic. And the belching bubbles were a cherry on top of a cake.

Even Rick playfully knocking the unconscious Jesus into Daryl on the way back to Alexandria

I was certain Jesus was faking it. No way a man can stay unconscious that long.

Maybe whoever lived on the farm couldn't quite bring themselves to kill their friends/family when they turned, so tied them up out in the field?

More than one, but one of those is dead already..

Season 6 and still going strong. Why couldn't Falling Skies do the same? The writing fell off and it died a miserable death. WD is simply getting better and better. So, when's Darryl going to get some action?

Didn't Daryl and Carol have something sort of developing back when they were searching for Sophia? Daryl and Carol. At the very least, they've got a rhyming thing going.:)

Yes, and you remember Cherokee Rose, when Daryl brought a flower to Carol. But ever since these two has been courting each other for quite a bit. Still no verifiable action in the bed department.
