Had some good news this week; I'm going to moderate several panels at Stan Lee's and Steve Wozniak's first Silicon Valley Comic Con. Bad news is...LOTS of work to prep. One in particular will be intensive and tax my creativity and geek knowledge: Match Game: Geek Edition. It's based on an old game show where the questions are designed to be funny. For example, one question from that game show was:
Tiny Willie Schumaker got so mad, he punched big Wilt Chamberlain (basketball player) in the BLANK. (the answer given by most was knee, but the potential ribald element was a staple).

OR

You know you’re at a really wild party when you see a BLANK in every room.

Jo Tells me its similar to what are called blankity blanks.

So I'm gonna need bunches and bunches. Ideally they should be related to SF. F. horror, technology, the internet, or internet/tech companies. However, not all have to be so if you come up with a good one outside of those perimeters, suggest it anyway.

Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks.

!!!!! Congrats! That sounds out of this world. Do videogames count as well?

Have just finished the excellent Batman: The Arkham Knight. The series is a pretty good primer for the comic based DCverse (it involves lots of the characters and has a encyclopedia function too)

Oh Yeah, I want to play that one. Have it on Xbox, but haven't gotten to it. That would be a good one for a blankity blank. The original Match Game game show actually had a Batman question:
Batman said to Robin, ‘Don’t ever tell anyone I wear a blank.”

But I kinda thought we could do better than that! Any suggestions? Don't have to get the phrasing right, I just need the core idea to run with if you have one.

Oh-oh...I got one for a video game:
  1. Chell was telling her mom about her trip through the Portal to visit GLaDOS the computer for tea. “And wouldn’t you know it,” she said, “The cake was a lie. Turns out it was a freaking _______.”

Most cosplay costumes are made of _________

D20, otherwise known as ________ (don't critically miss this one)

When dressing as _______ I always ________. For the public, of course.

Never approach a geek from the _____!

42= __________.

Hoban was having a bad day when he turned to Malcom and said "I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I _____?"

Ah Highlander...an oldie but a goodie...must be one there! But no, they can have more than one answer. In fact, while answers are fun to toss around, I don't need them. The way the game gets played on TV is am MC asks the question. Then after about 20 seconds, during which time a panel of six celebs each write down their answer, the MC asks the contestant for an answer. For each match with a celeb, the contestant gets a point.

But these are fruitful avenues. I'm taking all these down and will convert them. I like really like the 42 thing, Hopewrites. I will definitely come up with one on that premise. And thanks, Shyrka, that one is ready to go! And will look into that, Brown Rat. Don't know that author. Thanks all!

This game one is very basic:
"I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an blank to the blank (arrow and knee). A bit of extra trivia is that in scandinavian countries, taking an arrow to the knee actually meant getting married, since you go down on one knee to propose, as if getting hurt in the other leg. Or so i've heard. This means the guard in Skyrim isnt actually talking about a battle wound.

That would explain why he switched to guarding the town rather than being a way from his beloved on patrol.

Being an archer, in game, I've shot many arrows into many knees. Sometimes as a critical hit. But always fatal. Once I critically hit this guy's elbow and he died with the arrow stuck in the space next to it. Should have screenshot that. Ah well.
