I've seen most of his films, but hadn't heard of this until it was mentioned in a book I was reading. It's a seven-minute music video, produced as a side project when he was suffering writer's block trying to write Princess Mononoke. Interesting, as it's (I think) his only futuristic sci-fi, as well as being one of his most adult works (along with Mononoke and Nausicaa). Here's a link.

That was beautiful. I like the do-over miracle when the truck falls. (Just hoping it isn't a parallel of what happens in Brazil.)

The animation is very reminiscent of Dominion or Black Magic M-66, but maybe that's the era.

I think Miyazaki is too kind-hearted for that. My own take is that the girl's powers enable the do-over for real, but I like that it's open to interpretation.

And thanks for reminding me this existed so I could watch it again.

Probably the main reason I want to go to Japan is to see the shorts exclusive to the Ghibli museum, so this was good to see, thanks!

I got confused with the timeline, and why it showed some of the same parts multiple times.

Although I generally prefer fantasy, it's interesting seeing Miyazaki sci-fi.
