YA authors will take on Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Catwoman

Random House has brought on a super league of writers to do the characters justice, all of them New York Times bestselling authors. There's Leigh Bardugo (The Grisha Trilogy) on Wonder Woman, Marie Lu (The Young Elites) on Batman, Matt de la Peña (Mexican Whiteboy and The Living) on Superman, and Sarah J. Maas (The Thrones of Glass series) on Catwoman.

The books will be released in that order, starting with Wonder Woman in August 2017 — a month after the planned release of the Wonder Woman movie.

Random House says all four novels "will embrace themes of good vs. evil, coming-of-age romance, and superheroes from unexpected places who have the determination to achieve seemingly impossible dreams."

Sounds interesting, but I feel Catwoman, a second-rate villain/antihero doesn't fit with the other choices. How did they decide to include her in the same group as the founders of the Justice League? Did the authors choose them or did Random House?
