The Strain...

I've just started watching 'The Strain' and have to say I'm not sure what to make of it. There are classic horror tropes which are then mixed in with more modern fears of pandemics.... but it seems to work (TBH it is early days though as I'm only on E2).

Anyone else got any thoughts?

I watched the series last year, nothing original really (the vampires are reminiscent of the Necroscope series wamphyri) but I enjoyed it. I don't think it got renewed for a second season though.

It did, and it's been renewed for a third, too.

I stopped watching it halfway through the second season, when I realised I didn't give a flying fig about any of the characters

Ahh, ok. I havn't seen anything about it yet. I'll look out for it. I like the old guy, the one that's been hunting them since the war.

Finished season one and two and really looking forward to season three. Recommended.
