Hi fellow adventurers,

Is there anywhere on Chrons (or in the wider world) where I'd be able to search / browse some book cover artists for SPing purposes? Have looked on Fiverr and on deviantart but thefolks on there aren't necessarily specialist book cover designers, and I'm told there is a specific knack to doing it right.

Would Instagram or something similar be any good?

I used an image from shutterstock and a local printer. I'm pleased with the results. He was £60 but it'll be more once I get the paperback cover as well. The cover has gone down well with my target market and my teens. Initially I wanted a more trendy cover but it wasn't grabbing the readers I wanted to grab.

I have searched Deviant art a lot, but the two covers I have done so far were not from there. Obviously the first one was my sister in law's. For Explorations I loved Nick Webbs covers so I reached out to the artist and did it that way. For Across the World I am working on finding someone now, and have reached out to an artist I really like, and have a few books on my shelves with their work on it. I might just go that route, but that will depend on costs. I think the covers are one of the most important things in this digital, online world, so Woodbridge wants to invest in them.

I will be watching with interest to see what other resources people have come up with or used.

Not sure what the latter at are - both are priced just under $500 for a custom design - but the latter also has off-the-shelf covers for $150:

@DG Jones Have you had any luck? I'm in the middle of searching for a cover artist and it is quite the experience as always
 
Been doing a bit of scouting, but made no approaches yet - am just looking around at the various types of cover art to see if I can find someone who really resonates. I like Reedsy as the professionals there specialise in book cover design rather than simply concept art, and it shows.

Rethinking the title to 'Journeys' and I have hired Tom Edwards again for it. I think the end result will be awesome

His pricing is very reasonable, at least compared to most others I've contacted. He did the below for me for my SF collection due out soon.

Depends on your needs but if you can 'fit' with a premade cover there are quite a few sites doing reasonable ones e.g. Home

DJ did you find one? Did you want a mock up to show them what you need? I could put something together for you.
 
No I didn't make any approaches, I just did a bit of desk research and noted a few people that caught my eye. I'm still due an edit before I get to cover design stage. But the offer of a mock-up is intriguing - I may send you a PM about it, thanks :)
