As the TV series is diverging from the books - and especially as we don't know how closely The Winds of Winter will follow Season 6 - I thought it might be worth exploring a few possible outcomes through the rest of the series from what we've seen.
The first speculation I'd like to explore is the ultimate fate of Gregor Clegane.
Dondarrion was sent out by Ned Stark to take him, but obviously failed, Now he leads the Brotherhood Without Banners - and cannot die. Perhaps useful enough in defeating The Mountain - but now they have Sandor Clegane as well.
It was suggested that Sandor would eventually destroy his brother, so presumably he'll do that with the help of the Brotherhood Without Banners - and specifically with the help of Beric Dondarrion?
The question is why Ser Gregor would be out in the wilds near where the Brotherhood are, and away from Cersei. Any suggestions on that? Perhaps to take Jaime from his army?
Presumably the White Walkers will be somewhere nearby during this process, allowing Thoros to set fire to his sword to fight them off (and presumably die doing so - perhaps making any future conflict between Beric Donarrion and The Mountain a fight to the death, literally, for both of them).
