Male-female roles reversed:

Theme: a man dies and his consciousness transposes to a Playman in a dystopian future-time where women are dominant. The women there construct Playmen from recycled organs. The Playmen have to serve them in mentally manufacturing food at a factory. He makes bacon. Travel to the factory is by a 'rolling-road.' The Playmen are subservient, hairless and can be punished for any reason by an item termed a 'Goad.'

Read circa 1955. A thin paperback. Reading level Adult.

I think I remember this story. Male cadavers were recycled from ancient graves, restored in a thought-controlled machine into mindless servants? Except in this case, the operator has gotten drunk and is looking for some lovin'?
The women all wear pink unitards? He escapes his "creator", finds another younger woman who is seduced by his manly know-how. He creates bacon with the miracle machine, along with tools and supplies, and they escape into the ancient wilderness to start anew?
I thought it might be Heinlein, but doesn't seem to be. I can't remember the title or author either.

Thanks ashewyntr, this is most interesting but not the one I look for. The theme looks like a part-source or derivation of what I seek. It's possible it was Heinlein or one of the other Greats using an alias when they were first starting careers. In those days it was necessary to do this as their output was prolific and they had to sell.
