Ooh, very reminiscent of Paul Nash with those fractured lines.
Ooh, very reminiscent of Paul Nash with those fractured lines.
Great cover.
It's actually "La Mitrailleuse" by Christopher Richard Wynne Nevison.
Fantasy connection, possibly: the soldier on the left looks very similar to some of artist Ian Miller's orcs, and I wonder if he was inspired by it.
That's a super cover.
Susan, your author name is small. Too small…?
Bugger, I should have known that. It's actually one of the illustrations in a book of WWI poetry I've got. (Though the colours are considerably more subdued in the book.) There's a detail of his Troops Resting, too, which has exactly the same feel and style. Anyway, good find! It's actually "La Mitrailleuse" by Christopher Richard Wynne Nevison.
