the Amazing Spiderman #36 (9/11 edition)

I'm somewhat ambivalent about it myself. The story has good intentions and some truly haunting imagery. Considering that the New York setting is such an integral part of Spidey's identity it would be disrespectful to just dance around the catastrophe. However, in practise the issue wound up feeling more like a rather heavy handed essay than an actual story. Peter felt more like a mouth piece for JMS than an actual character and I have a hard time believing that people as twisted as Dr Doom and the Juggernaut would be overly teary eyed.
