Please tell me that someone watched this hour long mess.

I turned it off after about 15 minutes. As a huge fan of the original movie, I just couldn't stand the amount of humor thrown in. Riggs was a loose cannon, in the beginning, for a little while, but he wasn't this comical character.

It will suffer the same fate as Rush Hour did a couple of months back.

They would have to fundamentally change the characters for this to work as a series.

Me too, but the sequels required too much suspension of disbelief. IIRC the older guy was just about to retire in the first film and Riggs was a psychological mess. Unfortunately, I think they did become some kind of Laurel and Hardy slapstick characters in the later films.

It has been as good as the movies so far, and I'm on episode 2. Just let your mind rest on the characters and they will come alive. Promise. I've been loving the gags and violence.
