Within the next few weeks, in the Classic SF & F area of Chrons

Classic SF&F

you'll be welcomed to participate in a conversation about a dissertation that I have discovered on the entire career of Arthur Machen, the noted horror writer. The dissertation is here:

Machen (1863-1947) is typically regarded as one of the very greatest authors in the genre of modern supernatural fiction, having penned "The Great God Pan," "The White People," etc. He was an acknowledged influence on Lovecraft and other writers.

The "Man Is Made a Mystery" postings are now complete and the conversation continues when you show up.

Arthur Machen: Man Is Made a Mystery 4: Green Round, N, Exalted Omega, Tree of Life, more

Fans of "The Great God Pan," "The White People," The Hill of Dreams, "The White Powder," "The Inmost Light," etc. may find some matter of interest here. Arthur Machen hasn't received very much critical discussion; here's your chance to participate. The paper by Dr. Geoffrey Reiter that is used as a springboard may become the nucleus of a book on Machen. Reiter would like to know what you find convincing and what isn't persuasive.

haha)) that's a good message) bcos 'dissertation' really sounds a kind of frightening. :D
