I believe the book to which you are referring is the one he spoke about in an interview titled, "The Man from Miami" which he said could curdle milk at twenty paces. This one is not fantasy but based in London during the 80's and takes some autobiographical elements of his life as a reporter and mixes it in with fiction as a crime thriller, or so I understand.
