Video trailer to promote book

I might be a bit slow, but I just saw a video trailer of a book on Wattpad! It looks as if it's a film, but it isn't. :confused:

Has anyone here got experience with that?

Imagine it must be a good way to reach young reader...?

They're reasonably popular (watch this space, I might have one coming out at some point) and are used more and more to reach the You Tube and what not generation. But, as ever, cack ones do more harm than good.

Talking about reach, though, how would someone get to see them if they're not already aware of a book's existence? They're not likely to appear on YouTube's list of suggestions, I'd guess, unless they've already had a spectacular number of views. And if you had one chance to get someone to click on a link, would it not be better to make it a link to the book's Amazon page, for example?

I'm happy for my nay-saying to be shot down, though. Sell it to me!
