I read a book years ago, but don't remember the name or author and wondered if it rang any bells with anyone!
Set in the future, the masses are fairly average and kept that way by the people in change. There are some individuals who are able to communicate telepathically. They have a mission (I think to free the masses from their stupor).
These people go into space and speak with a council of elders who talk to them about lucid dreaming.
Minimal info I know, but anybody recognise the description!!!!
