Had never heard of them, either, until this picture published to the BBC website of one that showed up on a misty Scottish moor: Amazing white rainbow snapped over Scottish moor - BBC News

I wonder how many other planets out there might have something similar? :)

In my opinion, the Earth owns the rainbows ! Any other planet will need rain in the first place.

I see you already have snow in your neck of the woods. I didn't change the tires yet and I already hate winter. :(

That's Rannoch Moor - if you don't know what you're doing it will swallow you whole.

Snow is no surprise.

It looks like a very good place to spend your holidays far away from stress and urgent jobs.

One of the photos attached is from Outlander, so I might have seen this place in the movie without realizing where it was taken.

Very nice photo.

That's frozen light is why... it's an 'icebow' ..we get them here all the time and the polar bears are sometimes injured when they break and fall on the snowfields.

Amazing photo.

Rannoch Moor brings back memories for me. It's where I fell out with a friend a few years ago. He kept using his mobile phone whilst I wanted to get away from all that crap. He got yet another call and I erupted. He said it might be an emergency. I looked around at the wilderness and screamed (Basil Fawlty style - arms waving and everything) What the **** are you going to do about it if it is?

It must have looked a bit strange - a mad Scotsman ranting and raving at an Englishman in the middle of nowhere. Of course, some might think that normal for a Scot:)
